MBSE Fundamentals III with CAMEO - Instructor-led

Course Length: 20 hours

Prerequisite: MBSE Fundamentals II

The Fundamentals III course takes systems modeling to an advanced level by teaching participants how to integrate SysML models into the broader digital engineering ecosystem. Building on the foundation established in Fundamentals II, this 20-hour instructor-led course introduces the parametric diagram (PAR) along with advanced concepts such as profiles, libraries, usages, views, and viewpoints. These skills enable modelers to go beyond system representation and begin performing analysis, customizing SysML to their domain, and tailoring models to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

Hands-on exercises in Cameo provide practical experience in creating parametric diagrams for system analysis, extending modeling capabilities with profiles, and building reusable content through project usages and libraries. Students will also learn to present model data through stakeholder-specific views and viewpoints, improving communication and collaboration across teams. The course concludes by exploring methods of integrating Cameo models with external tools such as MATLAB, Python, and DOORs helping organizations connect MBSE with their full digital thread.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to create sophisticated, analysis-ready models in Cameo and connect them seamlessly into a digital ecosystem that supports efficiency, traceability, and collaboration across the enterprise.

Course Objectives:

  • Create parametric diagrams for system analysis
  • Apply methodology-related concepts and best practices
  • Customize SysML using profiles to reflect domain-specific needs
  • Reuse existing content with model libraries and project usages
  • Tailor model views to stakeholder needs using viewpoints
  • Explore integrations between Cameo and external engineering tools
